Kyoto has become the most tourist city in Japan, and one of the most visited cities in Asia. Its attractions are known all over the world: the Arashiyama promenade, surrounded by long bamboo poles, the Fushimi Inari shrine, with its path marked by thousands of red doors culminating in the ascent to a small sacred mountain ... Not to mention the temples of the interior of the city, such as the Golden Pavilion, which inspired the novel by Yukio Mishima, or the dry garden of the Ryoanji temple, the maximum expression of art influenced by Zen philosophy. But there is another Kyoto that hides among the folds of this thousand-year-old city, a Kyoto only accessible to those who have spent many years there, and who sometimes waits in the most visited places but requires an interpretation based on the codes of art and the oriental architecture.
