2014 was a key year for Afghanistan. During that year the country saw the end of the international security mission led by NATO since 2003 (known as the ISAF, for its acronym in English). A point and another that left a bittersweet feeling between the governments and the armies that had been actively involved in it. On the one hand there was relief for the completion of a mission that had cost many lives and resources, and on the other was the fragility with which the achievements were based, especially in view of the growing rise of the Taliban insurgency.
