This book was conceived as a monograph dedicated to the work of Rong Rong & inri, after the exhibition he gave Casa Asia in Madrid (PhotoEspaña, 2008) and then in Barcelona. He is one of the most relevant figures of the avant-garde of the late eighties and early nineties of the last century, who promoted photography as an instrument through which they revolutionized the artistic scene until then dominated by academic painting but in the process of transformation with the first performances. The title of the exhibition aims to associate Rong Rong & inri's photographic project with the power of ruins, whose location is part of their immediate and everyday environment. But, also with the domestic landscapes of personal life in the scenes of demolition subsequently invaded by the architecture that builds the new Chinese cities. An exceptional witness to his contemporaries, Rong Rong specialized in photography since the late 70s, going from recording the actions and performances of the most radical artists to images of domestic and everyday life typical of a country and a city. that began an unstoppable mutation process between the destruction of the past and the construction of the future.
