Asian Fim Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) is the leading Asian film festival in Spain, and each year it presents around a hundred screenings from 25 Asian countries. Cinemes Girona, CaixaForum and Filmoteca de Catalunya are the main venues for this event specialized in the best Asian cinema, which is held in Barcelona at the end of October.

The festival proposes several cinematographic itineraries through the following sections: Official, Official Panorama, Discoveries, Netpac and Special, all in competition. The festival also presents a selection of the Asian Film Awards (AFA), awarded annually by the Asian Film Awards Academy based in Hong Kong, and, finally, the Retrospective section which is usually dedicated to an Asian filmmaker. In 2019, the AFFBCN presented a new preview of its programming with the OFF Festival.

AFFBCN is a festival that brings together the best filmography from the Asian continent while facilitating public access to productions from this part of the world, as well as a meeting between professionals from the sector and the film industry. Every year the festival reproduces its activity not only in Barcelona city, but its filmography is screened in other festivals and cities in Spain.
