L'Àsia, un continent divers

Contents: As well as references to geography, history, economy, ethnology, etc. in each country one or different subjects will be presented that, in spite of the fact that the majority are of universal interest, have been chosen because often information that gets to the West of a concrete country is related to this issue or they have a special incidence or worry their civil societies (some examples could be the impact of cyclones in Bangla Desh, the management of water of India, the impact of tourism in Nepal, the violation of Human Rights in Indonesia, etc.). In this context, and with the will to make known the initiatives of civil societies of the Asian continent, in each country an assoaciation, local initiative, etc. is presented that work on the improvement of the quality of life of the population. Structure: Each volume includes work books aimed at students and teachers. In the book for teachers you can find a programme page for each country, where the contents are detailed (concepts and facts, procedures, rules, habits and values), methodology, activities (including some evaluation activities), timing and orientation by ages. You will also find extension information on the different work issues that are developed in the books for students, complementary activity proposals that teachers will introduce to all the class group (it is mainly about role games, simulation games, board games, etc.), documents of interest about working issues (manifests, universal declarations, etc.) in relation to concrete activities proposed in the book for students. In the same way, an activity solution book, bibliography, videos, post addresses, Internet sites and electronic addresses of interest related to the country and study object issues will be included. The book for students is structured in work files and it contains all the necessary information for the development of all the activities that are proposed. Each work file contains different activities, some individual and some to be developed in pairs or group. Volumes are: 0. Introductory or general volume 1. Countries of the Himalayas. Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. 2. Hindustan countries I. Sri Lanka, Bangla Desh and Pakistan. 3. Hindustan countries II. India. 4. Countries of Southeast Asia. The Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. 5. Iran and Afghanistan 6. Japan and the Four Dragons. Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Southe Korea. This book gathers three fond stories set in countries of Asia. The white elephant is the story of this unique animal and the fun adventures it lives with a monkey of the jungle. The eaglet tells the story of the frienship between an eaglet and a monk of Tibet and finally, The golden butterfly is the story of a little worm in a garden of Japan that does not stop its effort until it becomes a butterfly.

Cuando la madre de Mei (4 años) y Satsuki (11 años) cae enferma es trasladada a un hospital rural. Para no estar lejos de ella, las dos niñas se trasladan con su padre a una casa de campo en plena naturaleza donde todo transcurre apaciblemente hasta que las dos hermanas descubre la existencia de los "conejillos de polvo", y de este modo aprenden que hay seres que no todos pueden ver, como los espíritus del bosque, al los que solamente pueden acceder aquellos de corazón. Mei, la pequeña, resulta tan fascinada al encontrar dos pequeños espíritus que se determina a encontrar al rey del bosque, Totoro. A lo largo de la película se muestra un retrato de la vida rural japonesa en los años cincuenta a través de una tierna historia con unos gráficos de gran calidad. Esta animación japonesa dirigida por Hayao Miyazaki en 1988 fue elegida, por la revista británica Time Out, como la mejor película de animación de la historia.

La tumba de las luciérnagas

Esta es la historia del joven Seita y su pequeña hermana Setsuko, que son hijos de un oficial de la marina japonesa. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, ambos viven con su madre, pero un día, en un bombardeo, ellos se retrasan y no consiguen llegar al búnker donde ella los espera. Después del bombardeo los dos hermanos buscan a su madre, y Seita la encuentra muy malherida en la escuela que ha sido convertida en un hospital de urgencia. Poco después la madre muere y, tras una breve estancia en casa de su tía, ambos vagarán sin casa y sin rumbo, en una época donde la comida y la ayuda escasean. Basado en una experiencia real que tuvo el mismo autor de la obra, se trata de una película esencial para visionar en colegios e institutos educativos.
