“Building a common path” is the motto of the twelfth edition of the Spain-Korea Forum, which will take place from January 24 to 25 at the headquarters of Casa Asia in Barcelona to representatives of civil society, public administrations and the economic and university world of Spain and Korea

The Spain-Korea Tribune constitutes a platform for dialogue and cooperation whose main objective is to enhance bilateral relations in the economic, academic and cultural fields, in addition to exploring opportunities for collaboration and promoting relations between the respective civil societies.

This forum is organized by Casa Asia and the Korea Foundation, and in this twelfth edition co-organized by the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and the EFE Agency.

The Spanish delegation is headed by the Director General for North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Ana MarSolomon, and on the Korean side by the president of the Korean Foundation, Sihyung Lee. Also attending will be the director general for Europe of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ki-hong Jung, the ambassador of Spain to Korea, Juan Ignacio Morro Villacián, and of Korea to Spain, Chun Hong-jo, and the director general of Casa Asia, David Navarro, among other authorities.

XII Spain-Korea Tribune: building a common path

This year's Tribune is structured around 4 sessions that will address topics of interest to Spain and Korea:

  • Session 1: From structured dialogue to strategic partnership
  • Session 2: Economic-business cooperation: renewable energies and green economy
  • Session 3: Interuniversity cooperation and language teaching
  • Session 4: The city as a space for cooperation

Representatives from the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the consulting firm Haz Energía, the Catalan Energy Institute, the universities of Barcelona, ​​will participate in the various sessions. Málaga and Complutense University of Madrid, the Cervantes Institute, the Office of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia, and the Spanish Center for Korean Research (CEIC). On the Korean side, the King Sejong Institute, Seoul National University, Ajou University, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the King Sejong Institute Foundation, and Chung-Ang University.

This dialogue forum, which is being held this year in Barcelona, ​​follows on from the eleven previous editions held in Seoul (2003), Barcelona (2005), Jeju (2006), Madrid (2007), Seoul (2008), Córdoba (2010), Seoul (2012), Málaga (2013), Seoul (2014), Málaga (2015), and Seoul (2016).

Coinciding with the celebration of the Spain-Korea Tribune on the afternoon of January 25, the new Consulate General of Korea located at Paseo de Gracia, 103 in Barcelona, ​​will be officially inaugurated.
