Casa Asia and the University of Cádiz have resolved the call for granting the Ruy de Clavijo scholarships for the current year.

Specifically, four Ruy de Clavijo 2024-2025 scholarships have been awarded to carry out research or cooperation projects related to Central Asia, with a financial award of €3.000 each, to the following projects:

• Patricia Chica Morales, with the project «Sustainable tourism through rural women in Mongolia»
Country: Mongolia

• Marcel Llavero-Pasquina, with the project «Cultural Justice from the Perspective of Access to Selected Ecosystem Services in Iran and Spain»
Country: Iran

• María del Mar Martín Aragón, with the project «Empowering Women through Mahallas in Uzbekistan: A Cultural and Legal Perspective»
Country: Uzbekistan

• Miguel González Ríos, with the project «Hip-hop and its poetic challenge in the construction of the contemporary identity of Uzbekistan»
Country: Uzbekistan


This call for Ruy Clavijo Scholarships 2024-2025, organized and jointly financed by Casa Asia and the University of Cádiz, aims to award four (4) scholarships to carry out research and cultural and academic cooperation projects related to Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Afghanistan, Iran and Mongolia) in the areas of cultural, educational, economic and political-social action. They are endowed with €3.000 each for the period from June 15, 2024 to May 31, 2025.

The Ruy de Clavijo Scholarships are part of the Central Asia Observatory de Casa Asia and the University of Cádiz, which aims to facilitate rapprochement between Central Asia and Spain from the political, economic and academic fields. This collaboration between Casa Asia and the University of Cádiz is part of the Signed agreement between both institutions last March 2023.
