The Bamboo School, the Intercultural and Inclusive Education Program of Casa Asia which this year celebrates 20 years, has launched a new literary proposal that relates the oral tradition of culturally diverse students to the literary and landscape context of Barcelona.

In an activity in INS Miquel Tarradell, in Ciutat Vella, the students took a trip to the world of oral tradition, starting with the stories of their childhood, mostly Asian, with the aim of exploring the rich terrain of cultural narration and the popular collective imagination.

They were then asked to reimagine and rewrite some of these traditional fairy tales from their home countries in the context of iconic places in Barcelona that appear on the city's Literary Map. The result is displayed in a poster exhibition of the stories that celebrate diversity, while encouraging appreciation of local heritage.

Giving visibility to creative stories based on legends and fairy tales, connected to the Barcelona context, has been inspiring and has exposed cultural connections, initiating their interest in both their own narratives and the literary treasures of the city's fairy tales. .

The fusion of personal folklore and the vibrant literary map of Barcelona sparked interesting discussions among participating students and has shown the power of storytelling in preserving cultural legacies.

It was a privilege to witness the students embrace their roots while exploring the charming intersections between tradition and the spaces of Barcelona.
