The fifteenth Spain-Korea Forum will bring together representatives of civil society, public administrations and the economic and cultural world of Spain and Korea on November 13 and 14, in Barcelona and Tarragona respectively.
The Spain-Korea Forum constitutes a platform for dialogue and cooperation whose main objective is to enhance bilateral relations, in addition to exploring opportunities for collaboration and promoting relations between the respective civil societies.
Last year's edition was held in Seoul and was closed by the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, while this year's will take place in two venues: on the 13th in Barcelona, at Foment del Treball Nacional, and on the 14th in Tarragona, in the Chamber of Commerce.
This forum is organized by Casa Asia, the Korea Foundation, and the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, with the support of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation and the embassies of both countries. This fifteenth edition also has the collaboration of Foment del Treball Nacional, Chamber of Commerce of Tarragona, the Government subdelegation in Tarragona and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
This XV Spain-Korea Forum is structured around 4 sessions, the first three are held in Barcelona and the last in Tarragona, which will address topics of interest to both countries. The first table with the title “Geopolitics and Security in the Indo-Pacific and the Euro-Atlantic axis” will analyze this issue in depth, as well as the possibility of a strategic partnership between Spain, Korea and third countries; The second table “Business Cooperation in the era of digitalization” will address the digitalization of SMEs and the level of cooperation between Spanish and Korean companies. The third session titled “Cooperation in the field of cinema as a cultural industry” will do the same in matters of the seventh art of Spain and Korea. Finally, the fourth and last table of the Forum is titled “Cooperation in energy transition” and will debate the use of green energy, the electric car and the manufacturing of batteries.
Representatives of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, Center for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy, (CSDS) Brussels School of Governance, Center for Indo-Pacific Studies, Sejong Institute, Korea will participate in the different sessions of the Forum. Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, la Salle Technova, Digital Innovation Group, Korea International Trade Association, Cineasia, Research Center, Korean Film Council, Big Bang Contents Inc, Ajou University, Technical Office of the Hydrogen Valley of Catalonia, Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluations and Plannig, in addition to the Chamber of Tarragona and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
This XV Spain-Korea Forum, which will be held this year 2023 in Barcelona and Tarragona, continues the previous editions held in Seoul (2003), Barcelona (2005), Jeju (2006), Madrid (2007), Seoul (2008) , Córdoba (2010), Seoul (2012), Málaga (2013), Seoul (2014), Málaga (2015), Seoul (2017), Barcelona (2019) Online (2020); and Seoul (2022).
