The second edition of the Spain-Thailand Forum will be held in Madrid on June 20 and will bring together representatives of civil society, public administrations and the energy and security sectors of both countries.

This forum for dialogue and cooperation, which It was held for the first time in Bangkok last year, is organized by Casa Asia and the Devswongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) in collaboration with the ministries of Foreign Affairs and embassies of both countries.

The Forum with Thailand constitutes a platform for meeting and dialogue whose main objective is to enhance bilateral relations, especially in the areas described, but also in that of country-brand promotion, in addition to exploring opportunities for collaboration and promoting relations between the respective civil societies.

Maritime security and cooperation, renewable energies and country branding

The II Spain-Thailand Forum is structured around 3 discussion tables, in addition to the words of the opening and closing sessions. The first table will address maritime security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. The second will analyze innovation in the field of renewable energies and the opportunities that this sector presents for both countries, while the third and final session will focus on good practices in promoting the country brand.

Both delegations are headed by the Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Diego Martínez Belío and by the director general of the Department of European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Krongkanit Rakcharoen. The general director of Casa Asia, Javier Parrondo, the director of the International Studies Center (ISC), Anuson Chinvanno, as well as the ambassador of Spain in Thailand, Felipe de la Morena, and from Thailand in Spain, Vosita Vorasaph.

Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Defense, ACCIONA, Repsol Renovables, Royal Elcano Institute, Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands, Spanish Cultural Action, and the EFE Agency will participate in the different sessions of the Forum. On the Thai side, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Studies Center (affiliated with DVIFA), Thammasat University, Electricity Generating Authority of ThailandT (EGAT), Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (Gulf), and the Creative Economy Agency will participate.
