The Olympic Games of Barcelona in 1992 were the beginning of badminton in the Olympic Games and, 27 years later, the fastest racket sport in the world comes back to Barcelona. It's the second edition of HSBC World Tour (Super 300 category), first level historical competition in the world tour and it attracts the best players of the world to Barcelona between the 19th and the 24th of February 2019.

122 Asian participants are highlighted such as Prannoy, Parupalli or Sourabh Verma (India); Li Xuerui (China); Ahmad (Indonesia) Phetpradab, Wangcharoen or Avihingsanon (Thailand); and Korean players.

* Li Xuerui, China, Olympic champion 2012 and double world runner-up in 2013 and 2014.

* Prannoy H. S., India, last bronze in the Asia Championships.

* Lakshya Sen, India, latest silver winner in the Youth Olympic Games and last Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2018 champion.

* Tontowi Ahmad, Indonesia, Olympic champion of mixed doubles in Rio 2016, with her new team mate, Winny Oktavina Kandow.

* The men's duet, Chi-Lin Wang, world bronze 2018, and Lee Yang, bronze in the powerful Asian Games 2018.
