Pacific Day Celebration

Once again, Casa Asia and the Spanish Association of Studies of the Pacific (AEEP) celebrate the Pacific Day as a tribute to the 6th of March 1521, when the Spanish ships of Magallanes and Elcano arrived to Mariannes Islands, day and place of the first meeting between the inhabitants of the islands of the Pacific and European visitors.

On this occasion, the documentary De aliados a masacrados. Los últimos de Filipinas will be screened, by Ramón Vilaró, who presents the story of the Spanish colony in the Philippines under the Japanese occupation during the 2nd World War.

After the documentary there will be a discussion among participants.
